My tummy is full

Hi everyone! Things are going great in Zambia. I love the team here so much, and they are doing such great work. I'll write more about the work next time. Tomorrow I'm leaving for Luanshya, so in tribute to my dear Canadian baker-friend Alisha, I wanted to share some of the delicious treats she's been feeding us this week. (Try not to drool.)

Carrot cake with homemade cream cheese frosting for my birthday

Nanaimo Bars...my new favorite

Apple pie - to die for

The cheesecake was gone before I could get a picture. Life here is pretty rough for me, hey?

Blyde River Canyon

Today we went out to see blyde river canyon with my mom. We started at the Three Rondavels, then to the Potholes, stopped for lunch at the Silver Spoon in Graskop (we went to Harrie's Pancakes on Sunday) and ended up at the used book store in Sabie before heading back home. We had a great day and the weather was beautiful.

I was a little more adventurous than mom at the Potholes.

Anyone who thinks Obama doesn't have all the hopes and dreams of Africa riding on his shoulders as well as millions of americans should take a look at this! My favorite part is the fist right below the picture of his face with HOPE written across the knuckles.
